"An Absolute UWS Gem! Consulate UWS is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in the neighborhood. The ambiance is chic and sophisticated, yet it maintains a warm, welcoming soul that makes you want to linger over every course. The food was spectacular, but what truly made our night was our server, Bebe. If you want the ultimate experience, ask for their section! Bebe was absolutely lovely—attentive, charming, and a total expert on the menu. Every single one of their recommendations was a home run. It’s rare to find service that is this polished yet genuinely personal. Between the vibe, the flavors, and Bebe’s world-class hospitality, we couldn’t have asked for a better night. We will definitely be back!"

"We’ve been recommended The Consulate and haven’t had the chance to come until now, and I wish we had come sooner! The food was amazing, with a mix of interesting and classic foods. Bibi, our server, was lovely, thoughtful, and recommended some great dishes. We’ll be back!"

"As soon as my group walked in for lunch, the hostess greeted and seated us. She was so friendly and made us feel comfortable immediately. Our waiter, Santiago, was fantastic. He had excellent recommendations, was very attentive and considerate (e.g., asking if we had to leave by a certain time), and even made the meal more special by giving me a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the grilled chicken, burrata truffle corn salad, creme brulee, and blueberry cast iron pancake! I would love to return again after today's experience! The ambience is so elegant as well. Perfect for groups, dates, and celebrations!"

"Beautiful restaurant near Central Park. Nice and fast service. The smoked salmon egg Benedict was okay. The eggs were overcooked. The French onion soup was just alright too. I would give it another try."

"We visited The Consulate Sunday night and it was great. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of cocktails to start. The Miss O’Hara was really good. Tried the grilled octopus, lamb tartare and, our favorite, the crab cake, absolute delicious. We also ordered the steak frites. The food was amazing, the ambiance was very chill on Sunday evening and Joel, the bartender, was really cool and funny. 100% recommended if you’re in the area."

"Hugely impressed with our experience at The Consulate. Really charming French restaurant on the Upper West Side! We ordered a variety of items to split, and loved all of them. My favorite was the mushroom flatbread and the sliders, but really tough call. Everything was truly great! The ambiance was lovely as well, would for sure return."

"We had a lovely time at this demure French gem on the corner of Columbus & 85th. The hostess was very warm and welcoming, our server was polished and efficient, friendly and personable (rare combo these days), and the food was legit a culinary delight. We tried the wild mushrooms and truffle flatbread, the beet and blood orange salad (off the specials menu), the miso pomegranate glazed salmon, and the wagyu steak (off the specials menu)…which was like eating art, and the sticky toffee cake. All top notch. It was my first time eating here, so I wasn’t feeling too adventurous, but definitely have 100% faith now. In the future, I plan to go for the oysters, caviar, and lamb tartar; as well as the bone marrow, and escargots…to start. This may be my new scene. They do a great job of creating a homey, comfortable space with exquisite food. It was busy on a Saturday evening, but never felt cramped; lively but you could still have a conversation without yelling. The passion rouge cocktails (off the specials menu), too, were a delight."

"Came here with my coworkers and really enjoyed it! It's intimate vibes and very dark inside. Good: - The food was all so high quality - despite being more pricey - The lamb tartar was very fresh and the bread it came with was also very tasty and toasty - The beef pasta dish was very good, the texture was good and the flavoring was just right too - The ceviche was fresh and very palette cleansing Bad: - The table was a bit small for four people - Portion sizes are pretty tiny for the price - Food took a while to get here but the staff were still nice Overall a really great fancy spot to go with friends for a more intimate dinner setting!"
